Easter

Our Easter is like most. We spend the evening before Easter coloring and decorating eggs. This year was no different even though I think next year we will not be dying eggs. It is so wasteful since no one in my family eats the boiled eggs after we hunt them. It is a tradition I grew up doing, but I think I will find a new one to do with my kids that will probably involve some plastic eggs and candy!
The girls were so proud of their beautiful eggs!
The next morning (Easter) my early riser Ashlyn was up before anyone as usual and saw what Mommy and Daddy left her for Easter. She was very excited to see what was in her Easter basket. Nathan and I have decided not to teach our girls about the Easter bunny. Since Santa Clause is something we don't really like either but are going with it just a little bit while their young and the magic is something so precious. There is no way I'm misconstruing the REAL and only reason about Easter. We tell the girls that we gave them Easter gifts. We do not do anything elaborate, just something small that they can use. This year was some Pez candy, a barbie, and a book. We'll probably do jewelry next year.
Of course Hadley was still asleep by the time Ashlyn had already ate breakfast and looked in her basket. My Hadley loves to stay up late and wake up late. We don't know who she gets this from. Nathan, Ashlyn, and myself are always up before 7. Oh well, God made her special and I wouldn't change anything about her!
Once she got up after Ashlyn woke her up she was excited about her gifts too!
Our church went off campus this year for Easter to try to reach more people. It was awesome, we had church at the Fairgrounds and afterwards there was Mayfest so there was a ton of activities for the whole family. We didn't stay to participate because we spent the afternoon with my family eating lunch and hunting eggs. Here is a picture of the girls looking at the petting farm. Those are tiny baby piglets behind the gate. They were so cute!
Here we are for our Easter Photo Op!

The girls had a good time hunting eggs. Here they are following Uncle Jack around to see if he'll show them where any are. We hid them better than we did at school so they really had to hunt and they were so prissy about it!
