Ashlyn and my dad share the same birthday. He was they very 1st person to hold her after she was born too. This year was very special because Ashlyn turned 5 and my dad turned 50! Here is Ashlyn on the morning of her birthday. She got a Cinderella glass slipper shirt and a Prince Charming Doll.
She used her birthday money to buy a Veterinarian station for her room. Poor girl is allergic to dogs but loves to play like she is taking care of them.
We went to my parents house for a Luau birthday party for my dad. My mom had games for everyone to play. Here are Nathan and Jack hula hooping. Surprising Nathan could keep it up for a while!
Here are Ashlyn and Hadley doing the Limbo!
Time to sing Happy Birthday to the Old Man!

Ashlyn's 5th Birthday Party
My sweet angel baby turned 5 in May. I can't believe how big she is now. It doesn't seem possible for her to be this old. She wanted an Alice in Wonderland party at Pump It Up. Here she is above posing and ready for the party to start.
Having so much fun bouncing around!
Bounce, bounce, bounce
Here is the present and cake table.
I made the cupcakes.
Party Favors, you can't go wrong with bubble wands!
Here she is looking at her bobo, while everyone sings Happy Birthday to her.
Showing off her presents.
She had a great time despite a few bobo's on her elbow's. She had a great turnout and lots of presents and fun!

Easter
Our Easter is like most. We spend the evening before Easter coloring and decorating eggs. This year was no different even though I think next year we will not be dying eggs. It is so wasteful since no one in my family eats the boiled eggs after we hunt them. It is a tradition I grew up doing, but I think I will find a new one to do with my kids that will probably involve some plastic eggs and candy!
The girls were so proud of their beautiful eggs!
The next morning (Easter) my early riser Ashlyn was up before anyone as usual and saw what Mommy and Daddy left her for Easter. She was very excited to see what was in her Easter basket. Nathan and I have decided not to teach our girls about the Easter bunny. Since Santa Clause is something we don't really like either but are going with it just a little bit while their young and the magic is something so precious. There is no way I'm misconstruing the REAL and only reason about Easter. We tell the girls that we gave them Easter gifts. We do not do anything elaborate, just something small that they can use. This year was some Pez candy, a barbie, and a book. We'll probably do jewelry next year.
Of course Hadley was still asleep by the time Ashlyn had already ate breakfast and looked in her basket. My Hadley loves to stay up late and wake up late. We don't know who she gets this from. Nathan, Ashlyn, and myself are always up before 7. Oh well, God made her special and I wouldn't change anything about her!
Once she got up after Ashlyn woke her up she was excited about her gifts too!
Our church went off campus this year for Easter to try to reach more people. It was awesome, we had church at the Fairgrounds and afterwards there was Mayfest so there was a ton of activities for the whole family. We didn't stay to participate because we spent the afternoon with my family eating lunch and hunting eggs. Here is a picture of the girls looking at the petting farm. Those are tiny baby piglets behind the gate. They were so cute!
Here we are for our Easter Photo Op!
The girls had a good time hunting eggs. Here they are following Uncle Jack around to see if he'll show them where any are. We hid them better than we did at school so they really had to hunt and they were so prissy about it!

Easter Parties
Here is Hadley and her class all lined up and ready to go hunt some eggs!
Hadley was a pro, she was so funny because if she saw one she didn't "like" she passed it up!
Showing off her eggs.
Eating lunch.
Here is Ashlyn's class getting ready to go find some eggs.
Ashlyn is my little perfectionist, she got a slower start because one of her eggs came opened so she wouldn't keep looking until the egg was put back together with the candy back in it.
Putting her straw in the juice box by herself, she's getting so big!

Ashlyn's special day!
My sister and her husband, Jack took Ashlyn to the Cinderella Ballet in March. Jack bought Ashlyn a new dress and treated her like a princess! They got all dressed up and took her out for a nice dinner before the ballet started.
At the ballet they were selling beautiful tiaras and of course Aunt Tonia and Uncle Jack bought Ashlyn one! She had a great time.

Hadley's Special Day!
Hadley got to spend a fun day with just her and Meme and Grandaddy. They took her horse back riding in Foley. This is her and my dad (Grandaddy).
Here is my mom(Meme) and Hadley getting ready to go for a ride.
This is before the fit she pitched because she didn't want to get off the horse.
Hadley got to pick where she wanted to eat for lunch. Of course she picked mcdonalds, she loves chicken nuggets and milkshakes!
After lunch they went to vistor's stop to check out some "stuffed" animals! Hadley kept asking if they were all dead!!

Hair Cuts
When I went to get my haircut Ashlyn wanted to go with me. She's such a girlie girl so she had a lot of fun. She was very patient while I got my hair cut. She was so excited for her turn. I can't believe how long her hair had gotten. She has been asking me for a while to cut it like mine but I just hated to cut it! Sonya (our stylist) did such a good job and she really took her time with Ashlyn. Ashlyn has a wave to her hair so its very hard to curl or to straighten, it just kind of does its own thing, but Sonya worked on until it was so straight and curled right under!
Here she is after and so proud of her new hair cut. She couldn't wait to go pick up Hadley from school and show everyone.
The next week I took Hadley in to get her hair cut. I knew I couldn't keep them both entertained while I got mine cut the week before. Hadley was very upset that Ashlyn got her cut and she didn't so I tried to explain to her that she would go the next week, that pleased her. I thought she would never let me cut her hair because she's been telling me she wants it to be long like Rapunzel's! She did very good for Sonya and her hair is much easier to style so it didn't take so long.
Here Hadley is after! She's really into that sucker!
Sonya went ahead and "freshened" Ashlyn's hair up while we were and I took them outside for a picture.

Hadley turns 3!
Hadley's Birthday was on Tuesday, February 1st. Holly, the girls elf from the North Pole made a special visit just for Hadley's birthday. She had balloons tied around her hands and she made a sign for her too! The girls were so excited about her coming to see them!
I made Hadley her favorite breakfast foods when she woke up. A "cracker barrerl" biscuit, which are the southern style that are frozen, bacon, vanilla yogurt, and choclate milk. She's making a silly face here!
My sister Tonia and I took off work so that we could spend a fun day with the girls celebrating Hadley's birthday. We took the girls to Kangarooz across the bay. We were the first people there! The girls had so much fun!
Hadley really enjoyed herself, she played with everything there.
For lunch Hadley picked McDonald's to eat at. She got a gift card to Wal Mart from her great grandparents in Arkansas. She picked out a "Big Girl" Ballerina Doll. She went right to it, picked it up and was ready to go. She didn't even want to look at anything else!
We also went to the Pet Store to look around at all the animals.
When we got on the bridge to come home it was all she could do to keep her eyes open, she had a fun filled day!
At home after her cat nap in the car. She's playing with her new doll.
One of Hadley's favorite food, spaghetti! What a messy eater!
She picked out a cake to eat on her birthday. She's such a happy girl! I love my Hadley girl so much, she is so much fun, sweet, and a blessing to have! I thank God everyday that he blessed me with her :)
